Sunday is not exactly one of the days when you feel like getting up early but me and my roomie happened to do so this sunday. So we thought we’ll put it to good use and went to watch this movie “Angels and Demons”.
I personally don’t prefer watching movies of the novels that I have read. But movies like Harry Potter series are an exception. Considering the good reviews of the movie I thought I’ll give this one a chance too, only to return home disappointed.
Firstly, I thought two hours could not cover the action in the Dan Brown novel. It seemed rushed, despite being pretty long. Secondly anybody who has read the novel would loose interest as the movie has nothing new to offer and the ones who haven’t read wouldn’t understand what is going on in the movie. You wouldn’t have a clue as to what is going on unless you knew what is preferati, conclave, The Illuminati, how the anti-matter would help recreate the moment of creation etc…
Ron Howard fails to portray the struggle of Robert Langdon to decode all the clues and even the relationship between Langdon and Vittoria. And dropping the Kohler character and CERN’s involvement was a bad idea and only helped in diluting the plot.
It could at best serve as a tourism video of The Vatican city and the visual effects were good too. But that was it. Not worth a Sunday morning’s sleep.
